Two small colonies (100-150)of endangered Least Terns nest on the ocean-facing side of Duxbury Beach. Like the Piping Plover their annual nesting success is very much at the mercy of storm driven high-tides that can wash away their nests as well as natural preditors such as foxes, coyotes, and crows.
