I had thought that this was one of the Traill's species but was uncertian and got some expert insight - which came back that it wasn't a Willow/Alder at all - rather it was a Pewee. The differentiation was made based on length of wings and the very indistinct wing bars see pix 2 & 3. Apparently this is not an uncommon source of confusion when such birds are silent as was this individual -while he was in sight at least. To make things interesting multiple Pewees and Willow Flycatchers were calling in the immediate area - from out of sight.
