You can see a portion of a very large eel hanging from the bird's beak. Before it took off, I saw it standing with at least some portion of eel already partway down its throat. I can't imagine that the bird would be able to swallow the whole thing, and if it did what would happen to its insides. It also seemed like the swallowing activity was far enough along that the bird might have trouble revesing the process.
