A juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk crashed into a glass door on our deck, and thankfully was just stunned. While it was recovering, I grabbed my camera and got shots from just about every angle to capture field marks as well as to try for a portrait or two. Here's a selection of shots with bits of commentary. The pictures were taken over a 7 minute period that ended when the bird suddenly took flight and went into some trees about 50 yards away.

After checking Raptors of Eastern North America and Cornell's Birds of North America Online, I have given up trying to determine the gender of this bird. However should viewer comments provide a consensus of insights, I'll add that info to the comments.
