I included the centipede because one doesn't usually consider such creatures when thinking of Hawaii. I didn't. This one, about half a foot long, had stung me about half an hour earlier. Felt like a nasty bee sting. It's an unwanted accidental import from the tropical jungles of the Americas. The longhorn cow (one of several in a small pasture) somehow looked out of place too.
