One of the well known features along the
Blue Mountain canyon ridge near Katoomba
is Orphan Rock. It was once a popular
picnic spot - albeit a very arduous and
dangerous hike. In 1974, it was closed off
and deemed unsafe, but a few adventurous folks
have made the climb since.
