The El Camino Real International Heritage Center Commemorates the El Camino Real de Tierro Adentro, the Royal Road of the Interior, which connected Mexico City to the Spanish settlements along the Rio Grande Valley in New Mexico, terminating near Santa Fe. The first expedition brought some 2,000 settlers to the area in 1598.
The center overlooks the original trail route and contains numerous exhibits and artifacts depicting the history of the area.
The Heritage Center is located just of I-25, South of Soccorro, New Mexico.
