Hi, Chris, thanks for your comments! Yes, that's the same bear cub and in looking through your galleries, believe I recognize you as being there at the same time. One of our camera clocks may be off by an hour! My buddy, who is very tall, was there, both of us shooting D70's. It was a tough shoot in the low light but an unforgettable experience watching the little cub.

Richard i think you and i were in the cove at the same time shooting the little bear in the tree i was browsing your gallery and found this one the date is the same but the time is a little off i posted it in a folder called bears of the cove. i was there with my dad and i bet you anything this is the same cub up in the tree that you have yawning as i have on my site now. if my memory serves my correctly we were on the right side of the road about 20-25 yards back. great work you do stay safe and keep shooting

Cades Cove is in the Eastern part of the Smoky Mountain National Park, on the Tennessee side. It's only about a 45 minute drive from my house.

Love your bears! I too spend much time doing pics of bears. Mainly grizzly and recently the spirit bear. Where is Cades Cove?
