This first project deals with reflections. Wanting to avoid the more standard reflections in windows, flat mirrors and puddles, I decided to purchase a mirrored gazing ball and had visions of producing a self portrait similar to that of graphic artist M.C. Escher. My attempts were abject failures as the curvature of the ball made it impossible to produce images with sufficient detail to be interesting. I could not find an easy way of eliminating the camera and lighting equipment from the scene either. As the deadline approached I settled on a few images I had taken with a mannequin as I tried to tame the tightly curved reflections of the gazing ball.
