The 8514 is pulled from the exif somewhere (can't remember where) just to make sure that the code is unique even when shooting multiple frames per second. I think it's the same sequence number that goes into the original file name saved by the camera.

I'm touched by your concern for my safety and your greater concern for my camera's safety, but you need not worry - the original ball was removed and a new one added in post-processing.
