A member of the figwort family, the rough gerardia (Agalinis aspera) plant is sometimes known as rough false foxglove, rough tall foxglove and rough angalinis. Its name comes from the sandpaper-like feel of its stem and leaves. Usually growing in sandy soils, the plants can be found on the Great Plains from Manitoba to Texas.
