The text on the building translates into 'Hitler must die so that Germany can live'. The majority of the Buchenwald camp were German civilians and European resistance fighters. Today we think the Nazi's did this only to the Jews. But the Nazi's put one million of their owns citizens in the camps too and butchered thousands of Soviet p.o.w.s.
