Bonjour,
I live in Vire. The town has been hapilly rebuilt in the 50's and 60's. The old tower on the picture is called the "Porte-horloge" (clock door). It is one of the rare lasting testimony of the surrounding defense wall which dated from the years 1400. In fact, the bombing was not necessary because only 50 German soldiers were on duty in Vire; but none could know this. Many thanks for having liberating us. Our City is cool nowadays (2010)
