Very short, blunt-tipped bill (compare with Western Sandpiper).
Bill size is variable with females having longer bills than males
and birds in the western population (like this one) are
shorter-billed than birds from the eastern populations.
Very short wings. Head appears smaller than in Western Sandpipers.
