Nuttall's Woodpecker (Picoides nuttallii) - Excavating for a nest on a dead snag

Ed Levin Park, Milpitas, California

This Nuttall's was high up on a dead snag portion of the tree and in the shade so the image is very noisy. I posted it anyway because the hole it's making is clearly visible.
