The sequence #10 to #16 of this gallery shows a Great Egret displaying on a nest. During the breeding season, a Great Egret's bill becomes orange-yellow and the lores(the skin at the base of the bill) becomes lime-green. When the egret displays on the nest, it spends it's time moving rhythmically from side-to-side, preening it's feathers and periodically moving it's head up and backwards in stages until it's neck is extended almost horizontally over it's back.
