Was in RVAH-7 from Sept. 1974-Mar. 1977. Nice to see the names of some of our shipmates Chief Bill Jacques, Gary Gonterman and you too Richard Farmer. I was Maint CPO and Senior Enlisted Adviser and later QA officer.
Just visited the base at Millington, TN a couple of years back and 601 was still in a left bank on the pedestal in front of the old Chowhall. The base is almost all demolished nothing but grass where all the AM Schools were. Would like to hear from Mack Foster, Milton Smith, Roy Cope, Ernie Walker, Bud Kent and any of you old Peacemaker's.
God Bless you all.

Richard, Loved the photos, especially the photos of the BBQ's @ Sig. I'm the one in the very back with a beer on my head. I joined the squadron in '75 in Naples, and transferred in 1977.

Hey Rich,

Who took the photo of Chief Bill Jacques?? I remember the white star design on the tails. The first one was painted at Cubi PT RP using polyeurathane. PHC Wayne Burch, CWO2 Jack Sturm and I did the design and layout in ungodly heat. I vividly remember that cookout in SIG. I'm in the left corner of one of the photos with a beard, which came off to go flyin with Jim "FLATS" Flaherty.

Richard!!! my god man, those are great vigi shots!!!! I served with heavy 7 from summer of 1969 (picked up the Connie in Sasebo, Japan)through the Med cruise of '71 on the Forrestal, a TAD in San Juan for thirty days, and another WESTPAC on the Hawk with a TAD in Subic for 42 days...until I left the Hawk in Aug '72 and flew to Home of Record (youngstown, Ohio)....I've seen some photos of the big bird, but NONE like these....thanks for sharing....
