Until several years ago, I did not know that when getting a turtle to safety, it is supposed to be placed on the side of the road to which it is heading. I was informed that if it was put on the opposite side, it would cross the road to continue in the direction it was heading before being "saved." Having put this turtle on the "correct" side and then doing a photo shoot, I watched this turtle turn itself around and head back across the road.
