The day before I came upon these characters, one of my neighbors told me there were four baby raccoons playing in a field close to the road. As much as I wanted to go see them, I figured by the time I got there, they would be long gone. The next day on my way home from running errands, almost exactly 24 hours after being told about them, there they were. Scampering around in the same field, relatively close to the road. I also lucked out as far as other cars on the road. There were none coming from either direction.
