At least, I THINK it's a mourning dove. On my way home from the P.O., I saw what I THOUGHT was a clump of dirt in the middle of the road, but I wasn't sure. I got out of my truck and walked right up to this fledgling hunkered down for dear life. I was able to "shoo" it to the side of the road. Of course, I had to take its picture, so I parked the truck across the street and went back to take a few pictures. This image was taken with my camera phone, but I have others which were taken with a "real" camera I have yet to process.
