And undulating fairways with punitive rough.
Built in 2009 by David McLay Kidd.
Kidd built the original Bandon Dunes (Oregon), The Castle Course at St. Andrews (Scotland),
Gamble Sands (Washington), and Mammoth Dunes (Wisconsin), Tetherow (Oregon). 18 total.
This was the first golf course built on a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)
in Scotland in over 100 years.
Environmental regulations were so strict that virtually no heavy machinery was used in construction.
Fairways and greens were found rather than "built".
Three years from opening it plays like an old Scottish links course. Delightful.
