The muted tones together with the juxtapositioning of curves, arches, horizontal and vertical lines and shapes make this an eye-catching image but one that - for me - lacks a central point of interest. The most obvious place to rest the eye is the complete arch at the top of the steps, but, being empty, it does not hold attention for long. This would benefit from a person entering the arch way - or perhaps, half-hidden, looking out. This would add to the sense of mystery of what is through that archway. MERIT.
