This shot could be best described as an animal portrait. The ibis is nicely isolated against a blurred and fairly non-distracting background by good use of aperture and depth of field. Much of the plumage
is lit showing great detail and there is a catch-light in the eye. Better light would have given less of a shadow on the neck and there is a bright spot behind the head that appears to have
lost detail. As it is an open competition I would have considered extending the blurred grass to the top of the image, taking out the strip of sky and the dark area in the top left.
