Waterfalls like this are a real challenge for the photographer. For exposure, there are black wet rocks, and bright white water. The camera cannot
handle both of these exposure values. The rule is "Expose for the highlights, process for the shadows". So, you make sure that the exposure settings
do not produce overexposed highlights (water) and in post production of the image you lift the black point to bring up details in the rocks.
Use the Overload indicator (Blinking/flashing indicator) on your camera to see nothing is overexposed after you take the shot.
