Lovely clean scene with good sharp detail. Changing your point of view here could have greatly accentuated your subject.
I think if you'd moved a little lower or higher you could have moved the horizon to your subject wasn’t intersected by it.
For instance shooting from a lower position could have the sky totally behind the log so it stood out more.
