Your idea is strong and your execution could do with some tweaking. Darken the nose so that the
light tone doesn't act to pull attention away from the eye. I Darken the edges to keep the eye
contained within the image. I particularly like the inclusion of the human elements in the image.
The most important part of the dog's world is included in the image.
