The author chooses a fast shutter speed to freeze the moment and left the aperture wide open. What he achieved with that is that everything in the foreground – the main subject - is sharp as it can be. Look at the ball, you can see every line and the background which would be very busy is thrown out of focus. Great choice. I would have awarded the images today, but I feel it needs more space to the left and to the right. I would like to see the whole shadows in front of the players and the whole foot of the one player. The colours are rendered well.
