Bombo Quarry is a popular venue for photographers. In this case the author has been attracted by the pools and its revealed contents.
It would appear that it was an overcast day which muted the colours which naturally appear in the rocks.
I would have considered converting this image to monochrome and seeing how it looked
- or maybe this is one of those rare situations where a selective use of saturation on the rocks might have helped.
