Your decision to have the second bird out of focus has produced an unusual image but it also produces a dilemma for the viewer. Is the viewer supposed to ignore the second bird? This is difficult to do because it takes up such a large part of the frame and draws a lot of attention away form the front bird. If you want viewers to concentrate on the front bird, or make some sort of comparison between the two, I think you need to make the front bird a bit lighter. You might also consider ways in which this image could have been constructed to tell a stronger nature story.
