considerably by cropping. Two thirds of the frame are not essential and simply distract. I'd try cropping most of the sky
and most of the grass below the closest bird. We then need to separate the birds from the grass a bit more and to do
this I'd select them (possibly in turn) and do some judicious sharpening with Amount set a bit higher than normal.
That will increase the contrast of the birds without changing the grass, which is pretty contrasty anyway. But a good effort.
