Judges Comments

This image makes me uncomfortable because I can't resolve it in my mind, so it has illicited a reaction from me - which is a good thing.
The image has been stripped of much of the information that I may have used to appreciate what it is that I am looking at - including the colour.
I can see texture and form and tone and I can guess at tree bark and yet ultimately I am not satisfied. Perhaps you have gone one step too far or not far enough?
Had you presented even less, would I have been able to simply enjoy the abstractness of it and not felt that I needed to make sense of it?
