Judges Comments

The bird carving is a document of something the photographer saw and the way it is presented here owes more to the skill of the artist.
This seems a harsh judgment I know and I rail against the usual "someone else's art" because I don't want to be dismissive of your effort.
This carving has caught your attention and now you have brought it to the attention of others - people who would not otherwise have seen it.
It is not a strong competition image as it seems as though you as the photographer have not brought anything extra to the image. I hope that that makes sense to you.
