I don't see how the photographer could have done much better with this with the available light.
Perhaps cropping a bit from below and the right could have improved the composition.
However, slightly brighter light, or the use of fill flash might show the detail more clearly and make
the eye more obvious. Some judges feel that all of the snake should be shown, but I certainly don't
agree with that concept.
