These allotments can be seen in Vorst near Brussels.
For the past 27 years I have seen them when I go to work, every morning and every evening. They're like a small world in a big world and I believe they are an interesting, worldwide phenomenon. Probably the people that keep them are very photogenic too!
Is this how they escape from every day life and its stress?

Great idea and excellent that you stopped to take a picture. You are right about those people. Would love to see the gardeners at work and what they look like. Maybe a small sociological photo study.

Here they would called personal gardens or something like that. Land costs would make these nearly impossible.
