A couple of us had a good hour and a half watching this night heron fishing, preening and doing everything else night herons do (including pooping!) at fairly close range (although I ended up putting the 1.4x teleconverter on my lens to give it some more reach to fill the frame) for what ended up being my first good photos of a mature night heron over the years. It was well worth skipping lunch!
