This is a very distant, heavy crop of one of the parent bluebirds from the bluebird nest box series I posted this spring. I haven't been able to get any shots of them nor have I really tried because they have been very, very wary of being approached or having anyone near their territory. This was just a brief, lucky moment when I was passing through on my way out (I also had a similar moment on my way in which I will save posting for another day). The bluebird had just spotted me from the distance when I took the shot below and the following shot (above) he flew to a closer tree for a moment while raising alarm. From there it was then up higher in the trees sounding full alarm. That's how it always went with these bluebirds.
