Cape May Warber

Two photos of a Cape May Warbler that was forging low in the bushes this morning. I had been out walking around for about 2 hours, seeing just a few birds here and there, not having any photo opportunities and wondering if I was ever going to get any photos of warblers this spring. Then all the sudden a bunch of Yellow-rumped Warblers showed up where an hour earlier there were no birds at all and among them was this one Cape May. Initially he was up high in the trees like Cape Mays normally are but for a while he was down low and came out in the open a couple of times. I was able to get two series of shots with these two the only good ones out of the 15 or so shots I was able to get in the couple of seconds he was out in each case. At one point the Cape May also flew down to the water to get a drink but unfortunately not in a spot where I could get a photo.

You did well to get these. They wouldn't come down, closer than 20 feet, for me later on.

Superb shots of this beautiful warbler. I am very impressed that you got so close and got such amazing closeups. One of my favourite warblers, and one of the best shots of it I have seen.
