I took this photo last August all excited to put my new Peterson Field Guide to Months to use, but with all the shorebirds that showed up at around the same time, especially the Buff-breasted Sandpiper, this photo got lost among all the other photos I was taking of the shorebirds. This afternoon as I was sorting through the last of my photos from 2012 I rediscovered it and finally got around to looking through my new field guide to moths. I came up with White-banded Toothed Carpet. Maybe this year (2013) I will spend some more time focusing on moths, which in the past I had passed by in the field because I didn't have any resources to identify them and also because I found it difficult to get good shots of insects this small with my older non-stablized macro lens unless I had a tripod (and I don't want to be bothered with tripods).
