This has been a good year for Monarchs compared to the past few years where I only saw two or three or even none at all the entire year. One of the fields in my neighborhood has a fairly good crop of milkweed in spite of the drought conditions in this part of the country this summer. I always see a couple of Monarchs flying around whenever I have visited the field this summer. This week fresh Monarchs like the one in this photo have been appearing in the field.
