River Jewelwing males (Calopteryx aequabilis)

Most of the River Jewelwings I saw this morning were males. They were frequently on the wing quarreling with each other, which made getting a photo challenging. Here, three males perch in close proximity, something that didn't happen very often and didn't last for long when it did happen. It seemed like one male was always trying to displace another male from his perch, a constant battle for the best perch.
