This red squirrel was posed nicely on top of a log but deep among tangles of branches. I moved around until I found a window through the tangles. I normally wouldn't take a photo through the tangles like this, but I felt like doing something different and the scene in my viewfinder seemed nice. I liked how the out of focus branches in the foreground made a grid pattern and framed the squirrel's head.
