This morning I was back out photographing deer and this time I caught up with the little buck and the injured ten pointer for the first time. In the past I had only seen the big ten pointer, aka "The Boss" and "The Forest King". Today I didn't see him.
I also didn't see many birds around this morning. I was hoping to encounter a flock of the friendly chickadees and nuthatches that hang out in our woods here because there was fresh snow all over the coniferous trees. I thought I might be able to get a nice picture or two of them among the snow, but this morning, a cold but pleasantly sunny and still morning, the birds were scarce. A short stopover of Common Redpolls, a lone Evening Grosbeak and a couple of Brown Creepers were among the few birds I saw today.
