This is my first good photo of an American Pipit. This morning I was out in the mudflats to see if I could spot the Buff-breasted Sandpiper seen there yesterday. No luck, not even with the person who first reported the bird there to help, but with the strong north winds overnight I wasn't surprised. There was a good sized flock of American Pipits and a mixed flock of Least Sandpipers and Sanderlings along the shoreline. A couple of songbird species like Palm Warbler were in the trees and bushes too. Finally, a Peregrine Falcon (below) made a brief appearance.
