Orange Sulphurs seem less likely to perch than the more common Clouded Sulphur, but the cool temperatures kept most butterflies I encountered this morning perched unless disturbed. I first encountered this Orange Sulphur in flight with the orange patches on the upperside of the wings clearly visible as the butterfly flew about. The butterfly then landed and offered my first opportunity to get a photo of this normally flighty, always-on-the-go species.
