Black-and-Yellow Argiope (Argiope aurantia)

This massive spider is tending to a grasshopper that got caught up in its web. I used a ring flash set at -1 2/3 as fill light in this photo. It overrode the muted colors and unattractive shading caused by the overcast skies.
