Black-and-Yellow Argiope (Argiope aurantia)

This massive spider is tending to a grasshopper that got caught up in its web. I used a ring flash set at -1 2/3 as fill light in this photo. It overrode the muted colors and unattractive shading caused by the overcast skies.

One of my favourites in the world of archnids (though jumpers are my overall favourites as a group!). She is a beauty.
