Powdered Dancer larval skins (Argia moesta)

Every exposed rock in the canal between the mainland and the island in the Ottawa River north of the ridge at Mud Lake was covered with these larval skins this morning. They belong to the Powdered Dancer damselfly, which were very abundant this morning, by far the most abundant odonate species I encountered.

Very neat shot and find. This is something most people will never get to see in person. I knew they had to come from somewhere.
