This Bald-faced Hornet walked over the ambush bug seen hiding among the flowers on this wild carrot. Luckily for the hornet, the ambush bug was busy with a fly kill, though I am not sure if an ambush bug would want to mess with a Bald-faced Hornet. I was looking for potter wasps, which were common a few days earlier, but I saw none the day I took this photo. Most of what I saw were Bald-faced Hornets.
