Thanks to Christine for pointing out where to find this. This colony of Wild Ginger was way off in a corner of the woods where I may not have noticed it.
 
The flowers of this species are not at all conspicuous. The flowers are borne on stalks that emerge from the base of the plant. Most of the plants I saw where not yet in flower and of those that were most had flowers that were pointing downwards or were covered by leaf litter.
