The morning started out with me heading deep into the woods looking for prints. I was looking for porcupine, grouse, and perhaps even mouse, but I found none of them where only two weeks ago I found many. Instead I found plenty of deer prints and a number of holes like this. This one looked to be the creation of a squirrel because there were discarded acorn shells and squirrel prints around the hole. I wondered if the squirrel was digging up one of the stashes it or another squirrel made in the fall.
